It's All About Eli!

Time to talk about the child in the middle!  Eli is just the best kid there ever was!  He is so grown-up that we sometimes forget he is only three!  So smart.  Eli went to get ice cream with Mike and I at McDonald's recently.  I just had to take a few pictures of his ice cream face!

 

 


Eli has been the best eater of the family!  There is nothing this kid will not eat.  Of course, now that I say that, he will become a picky eater!  He actually loves to eat raw onions.  His Great Pop used to eat raw onions like an apple, only with mayonnaise on each bite.



 Eli loves his Pop.  Here they are hanging out during VBS.  (I know this is all about Eli, but Miles is in the doorway over to the left :) )


 Eli has become quite adventurous.  It may be hard to tell what he just climbed, but it is really not that easy to climb for a three year old!  It requires taking some pretty big steps.  He saw it as a challenge and did it over and over again!


 Jenni, Jay, and Eli all share a birthday month.  This year we celebrated Eli and Jenni together.  Eli has a cupcake, Jenni a big cake.  Doesn't quite seem fair when you look back at it!  They both blew out all their candles!



Eli likes to play games.  He had fun playing games at our church Funival and Trunk or Treat.  Doesn't he make a cute Longhorn Football player!


Of course, he could also grow up to be a model.  Just look at  this picture from our family photo shoot last December!  Our photographer, Amy Coffee, got perfection from him!  This is truly one of my favorite pictures!


I certainly could not write about Eli without a picture of him wearing the Elmo pi's!




Eli loved to play "Where's Eli"  when he was little.



Wasn't he just the cutest little boy baby?  Also loved playing with the piano we first bought for Ava.


Eli so far has been the only grandchild to have his very own, all by himself, dedication ceremony.
Both grandfathers blessed the new little boy.  It was very special.  I have a video of it, but it is over 3 minutes long.  A little too long for a blog, I think.  And I'm not sure I can upload something that long.  But I have it!  If anyone wants to watch it, just come on over to the house!

Did I mention this blog might not be chronological?  I keep finding pictures of Eli that I like!  I like this one!  It was his first OU weekend!  Loving on his Pop.

I'm sure I could go on and on and on and on.  But I have to stop sometime.  Well, maybe not just yet. I have two more pictures that I love to show you.  Then I'll stop.  I promise.  First, newborn Eli.  Still at the hospital.

THE WEDDING!

The Wedding -- the only one we will ever host! Why didn't we have more girls? This was fun! Above, of course, Dad dancing with Bride Jenni. They had fun, didn't they? But of course, this was the reception, we are supposed to have fun! The week before the wedding was a whirlwind of last minute activities. We had guests from Chile at our house -- Kani - Rod's friend from childhood, and Cristian -- Rod's brother. We also had Lindsey -- Jenni's bridesmaid and friend of Rod from Chile. We worked on wedding stuff and ate way too much! Decorating the church was actually easy -- we had lots of help. We decorated on Wednesday evening. On Thursday, we finished up by adding trees to the auditorium. And, dumb old me, I have absolutely no pictures of it! I can only hope our photographer took some! Advertures in Dining with Ava

Isn't she cute?!! Here we are, at breakfast again! With Ava and Elmo. She loves Elmo! She has more than one. She has Elmo bibs that she likes to put on, too. She has Elmos socks, Elmo jammies, Elmo shoes, and an Elmo blankie, among other things too numerous to mention. She gets excited about Elmo and Abbe in books, too. Did I mention she likes to feed Elmo? Here he is, enjoying a big bite of Biscuit! So, Elmo asked us to give Ava a lemon! We do get together a lot to eat, so most of our pictures are going to include food. Ava was finished eating, so she decided to climb on her high chair. And we let her. Anything to keep her entertained. Then she found Grammy's finally very organized purse. I bought a purse organizer 'cause everything kept getting jumbled up. So, it was very easy for Ava to find things to play with! Moving along to our next meal with Ava. Jay and Sarah were going to the Stars game, so we got Ava early. She joined us for dinner. Doesn't

Ava Is One Years Old!

Ava is now a one year old. Jay and Sarah gave her a Party in the Park. She was so cute! Don't you love her bow! We had hot dogs, guacamole, chips, dips, and of course, birthday cake! Ava and Sarah opened the presents. Most of them were in boxes/sacks that were bigger than Ava. Ava actually got into taking out the tissue paper, and reading the cards. And what girl doesn't need a longhorn Happy Halloween shirt! Ava's cousin Emyle helped deliver packages to be opened. That was her job at Jenni and Rod's wedding shower, too. She is quite good at it. Cousin Terri got the honor of writing down who gave Ava what! Thanks Terri! Do you have Carpal Tunnel syndrome now? Ava really didn't know what to think about her cake. Sarah helped her blow out her candle. A short video on Ava learning to eat cake with her hands. As you can see, it did not take long to get the hand of it!
