Baby Shower for Ava Elizabeth Worley!

Image
Ava's first shower! Today was my first time to act like a grandmother! Sarah's mom Susan has had lots of practice at this, but I am only a novice! There were so many people there! Lots of Sarah's family and lots of our family. It was so exciting to have Patsy, Patty, and Joy there. And my sister Nancy, my niece-in-law, Lisa, and her two cuties, Ayden and Emilye. And I got to see Sarah's niece Bella close up. I will share a picture in a moment. Bella is what I expect Ava might look like. Very Italian. First, a picture of the most beautiful present a new mom could ever recieve (besides the baby, of course.) Sarah's dad Terry made her a cradle! Sarah knew he was making it. When we arrived, it was all covered up. Sarah opened this gift first. And she cried. The pictures really do not do it justice. The "W" is on the headboard, the "Tree with the swing" is on the footboard.

PIRATE!

I love the scene in the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" when Johnny Dep is accused of lying, and he says "Pirate!" Mike has been playing Pirate every night since Sept 12 when he had his last cataract surgery -- and I should say FINAL not last cataract! Everything has gone really well. His eye still looks red, but at least it is better than it did last week! He has to wear a patch every night for two weeks! One more week to go! Mike has been growing a beard since August in Minnesota. Add a patch to his left eye, and he really does look strange! The pictures are pre and post eye patch removal after surgery. At night now his patch is clear so he can see out. I am asleep when he wears that, so no picture!

Worley Reunion 2007

The highlight of our summer is always the time we spend at Uncle John's Cabin in Minnesota. It is a time of great fun, exercise, Trivial Pursuit, and lots of GREAT FOOD! This year was no exception. Mike and I decided to drive this year. We have a brand new Jeep Cherokee, so we were very comfortable! We decided to do as we did in our youth -- drive til we were tired and stop. It was a great drive up and back. On the way back we discovered we had Satellite Radio! We listened to a lot of old radio shows: Jack Benny, Gunsmoke, and some we had never heard before. It was very nostalgic. Although it looks like they are sunbathing, the girls are really getting ready for Yoga! And Terri did a great job in any exercise! Here she is lifting those weights! There was always a game of Nirtz going on! Danny and Jamie on the left. Tori in the traditional ready to start position. While Nirtz was fun, the kids had other activities, too --- like talking on cell phones! There was lots of
