What's Up?
It has been a long time since I have posted!
A lot has happened!
First, Aunt Patty and Uncle John came to visit! So all of us Worley's got together at Blue Mesa Grill, ate some wonderful food, and had some quality time together.
Of course, Ava was very popular -- and awake! Enjoy some pictures from that day.
Ava really responded to all the kids. And she loved Aunt Patty -- we want to hire her to put Ava to sleep! When Ava got fussy, she just held her and Ava was off to dreamland. Wish I could do that!
Sometime after that, we had breakfast at our favorite spot, The Raven Grille, and Ava and her parents joined us. Again, awake! We got to see more of those big beautiful eyes!
Why is Aunt Jenni wearing that hat? Has she just come from seeing "Wicked"? No, she is celebrating her birthday!
She arrived at 0630 the morning of December 28th. She had time to do some Christmas shopping before she went to her birthday party. Sarah had arranged dinner at a Hibachi restaurant for Jenni and her friends. We all had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed the food. Sarah brought a cake with her from Texas Star Bakery (YUM!) and the servers came out with a hat and took a picture of her. Even brought out ice cream.
While Jenni was wearing her hat, Ava was doing her "Maggie Simpson" imitation. Too cute!
This was Ava's first Christmas! And she went at least 3 places! She had Christmas at her house, Christmas at Aunt Nancy's (my sister), and then Christmas on the 29th with Aunt Jenni! Too bad she slept through most of it!
December 29, our little family celebrated Christmas. We started with Mike's awesome Monkey Bread and Sarah's wonderful sausage balls. Then came the present opening. Great fun. Even surprises. And this is how Ava looked for most of it.
She was awake a lot, too. She helped to pass out packages, and was awake for some of her presents. It is hard to imagine how different it will be next year!
We all treasured our times together. It was a great year. We are looking forward to even more fun this year. God just keeps on blessing all of us. And now He has blessed us with Rod! Jenni came home an engaged woman! The only thing that could have made our holidays more of a blessing would have been to have Rod with us, too. We are most impressed with this young man, his dedication to the Lord, and his unending love for Jenni. (When I left Chile last summer, I asked Rod to take good care of Jenni. I wish you could have seen the look in his eyes when he said, "Always." ) You can see pictures of the ring on Jenni's blog (and I imagine most of you have already been there before you read this!)
