Summer 2013

This past summer was very busy!  It started with the birth of Abby and just kept going!  The next major event was our annual trip to John and Patty's cabin in Minnesota.  We were so fortunate that Rod and Jenni and Miss Abby could be with us.  She loved her Aunt Patty!  We called Patty the Baby Whisperer!

One of my favorite things to do in Minnesota is EAT!  There is always a lot of Great Food around!  With the exception of myself, there are a lot of awesome cooks at the cabin!  Steak night is looked forward to each year.  Pat and Leah provide wonderful steak and salad.  Below, the meat!  Love the meat!  Love eating all that protein!  (no fat, right?)

Every summer, I learn a lot about cooking.  This year I learned about proper presentation of the salad!  And I have put it to good use!  Always a great looking, and great tasting salad around for every meal!

Lots of gathering around the grill for the guys.  Mike and Pat seem to be getting drenched with smoke!

The secret to grilling a great steak is the butter!

The feast is about to begin!  Baked potatoes, steak, salad….we know how to eat!

One of my other favorite things is to sit and drink coffee, read emails, read a book, etc.
The cabin is on Duck Lake.  Love this mug!

Uncle Pat gave Rod and Jake some Martial Arts Lessons.  Not sure how much was Karate and how much was JuJitSu.

One of those gorgeous salads I am learning to imitate!

Jenni and Rod spent a lot of time with Abby.  She was only a month old!
And she got to fly for the first time!

When he wasn't helping out with Abby…...

Typical gathering around the table after dinner.

There is always some shopping while we are there.
Abby and I are cooling our heels in a coffee shop.

The guys spent one day fishing!  They brought home lots of fish!
Guess what we had for dinner?

The fish dinner spread!

So many fun weeks have been spent at the Minnesota Cabin.
There can be as many or more than 20 of us at any time.
I look forward to it every year!
Next year I need to take more pictures of things we do that don't involve eating!

enough food for your family
and all of the animals."
