Birthdays 2012
Okay, I am now finished posting about Paris! But while I was trying to blog about Paris, I missed blogging about several things going on at the time. So I guess it is now time to play "Catch Up"!
While we were in Paris, we missed one event -- Ava broke her arm on September 16. Apparently she was literally bouncing on her bed using her bouncing ball. Of course the little monkey fell off, but broke her arm instead of her head -- thank goodness! I don't even remember how long she spent in a cast, because it seemed to go by so quickly. She definitely adapted well during this time.
Next came Ava's birthday, an Ariel themed event. Ariel made an appearance, too!
This year she had cupcakes specially made by her mommy! Lots of presents, and of course the annual Piñata! And she got to have a lovely cast for all those activities. Did. Not. Slow. Her. Down!
And I think this was Eli's first time to try the Piñata. Looks like his Dad gave him quite a handicap!
Next family event was my birthday! We had a lovely dinner at Brio Tuscan Grill in Southlake and came home for cake and ice cream. Ava helped put the candles on the cake and helped me blow them out. Thank goodness they didn't put as many on there as they should have!
And Eli helped by getting out the ice cream! Actually he just loves to open the freezer drawer. Luckily he cannot climb in, or I really think he would!
We have birthdays every month, and sometimes twice a month, starting with Ava's in September! Mike's birthday is in November. This year my sister's family and our family all celebrated Thanksgiving on Mike's birthday, which was the Saturday before Thanksgiving. (On Thanksgiving, we would all be in Austin for The Game!) So a few more pictures were taken!
And I had some left-over candles that would not blow out, so Mike had to keep trying to blow them out. Ava thought it was lots of fun! Now everyone is afraid of the candles, though!
Next up for a birthday is Jay, with December 5. After considerable hunting, I have no pictures! Cannot believe that, but it is true! Sarah may have some.
Okay, now it is Eli's turn! Eli turned 2 on December 18. And of course I have pictures of that event! It was just a family event, and we had lots of fun watching Eli learn to open presents. This was his practice event for Christmas! Eli had a cookie monster theme. Sarah made these -- so cute!
Eli blew out his candle first try! Must have been watching during all the birthdays ahead of him!
Lots of presents to open! He really had fun!
And last for the year, Jenni Worley Rebolledo! Jenni's birthday is after Christmas. This year she requested a homemade Coca Cola Cake. So, no fancy decorations on the cake, just candles. I guess I should take a cake decorating class!
That is the end of birthdays for the fall of 2012! Our next birthday was Sarah's. Hers is January 9. The first to celebrate in 2013! She, too, requested a Coca Cola cake. It is my favorite cake to make, but again, just cake and candles!
Rod's birthday comes next, on February 8, then Miles will be born in March. Looking forward to both these birthdays! More events to come. I love events that serve cake!

Let them celebrate in God's presence.
Let them overflow with joy."
