White Christmas 2009

Can you believe it! It snowed 3 inches in Euless this year! Started during the day on Christmas Eve. This is what our house looked like when I got home from work around 3:30 p.m. It was still snowing! Hard to tell in this picture! See the snowman? Rod made that! By the time we went to bed, the yard was completely white. And it had stopped snowing.
This was our front yard this morning. Santa left his footprints in the snow for us. He couldn't get down our chimney without getting dirty.
The Christmas tree before we tore all the presents open. All of Ava's presents were wrapped in blue paper with Santa Claus on them. She knows who Santa is. And I thought we could find her presents faster! This little girl really likes opening presents! And it only took one present for her to figure out all her presents were wrapped in blue.
The Newlyweds second Christmas together!

Ava and her parents arrive! Santa left their gifts unwrapped for them! Ours were accidentally wrapped. Santa must have had too much eggnog and cookies when that happened!
Jenni and Ava with her favorite fish, Nemo. I cannot believe Ava actually posed for this picture! But then, her favorite Uncle Rod was taking the picture! Ava associates all things spanish with Uncle Rod. Jenni and Rod have been teaching Ava spanish words, like "Gracias". However, she never says the word by itself. She says "Gracis, Rod". All her spanish words are like that.
Ava got new pink converse high tops for Christmas. I was trying to get a picture of her in her Christmas Jammies with her new shoes on. She quickly stepped in front of the table. But the joke was on her---you can still see her shoes through the glass on the table!
And after all the fun of opening presents -- Ava ends up playing with one of Jenni's present boxes! She would hide her Nemo and the Santa puppy in the box. Then wait til you asked where they were, and gleefully open the box! But truthfully, she was excited about every present, whether it was hers or not. She had a lot of fun helping all of us rip into our packages, too. We usually hand out a present to each one of us, then we all open together. This year, it was get Ava to take the present to the folks, give Ava a present, watch her rip into her present, then open ours! She is a great helper!
After all the presents were opened, we all gathered together for a White Christmas picture. We used the timer function. We were freezing in our jammies, and it took awhile to get all eight of us in the picture. And the snowman is still hanging in there!
