LAST HOME GAME 2009!

ROAD TRIP! We love going to Austin. We have the drive down there memorized. I think if our car could hear, we could just say "Austin" and we'd be on auto-pilot the whole way! My sister Nancy and her husband Greg joined us for this trip. Lots of fun! We had to take a new route to the game, and we saw more tailgaters than ever! This is nothing like the game days of my years at UT. Much more fun! Love the smell of all those hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. cooking before the game.

We sit in the same seats every game. We are up high, row 36 of the upper deck. The lady who wears this cap is there every game. I love this hat! This lady is probably in her 70's, very healthy. Nice goal for us to attain!
Love the Texas band. It would not be the same without them! We always watch them march into the stadium. The opening songs are always the same, but I love it. And I have Deep in The Heart of Texas memorized now.
And this young man has made the last 4 years especially fun to watch. Colt McCoy. This game was Senior Night. Last home game for the Seniors. Great game. We won handily. We always stay until we've sung "The Eyes" anyway. Afterward, the Senior Football players took a lap around the field. So much fun to watch, because the cameras were on Colt the whole time.
Colt had a lot of fun making the lap. He stopped where the Cowboys were, and fired the cannon. That's only during the game usually when we score, quarter ends, etc. Made me laugh. Next he heads for Big Bertha, the band's giant drum, and gives it a whack. Finished out getting pictures made with the cheerleaders, etc. After 4 years, it was like watching part of your family make the rounds!
And I don't think I can ever get enough of seeing the Tower all lighted up in Orange! We have seen it a lot the last 4 years! I hope we see the whole thing lit up with a #1 on its side in January!
We all had a lovely time! It wasn't even too cold! Sweatshirt weather!
The next day we went to the 620 Cafe for a great breakfast before heading back to Euless. Next time I am getting a cinnamon roll! They look too good!

The season is still got a ways to go! A&M next week, then on to the Big 12 Championship, then on to the Rose Bowl for the National Title BCS game. Lots of confidence in my team!

"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord
their hope and confidence."
