On Being Alone

Sadie, in her "The Water Bowl is Empty" pose.
I have spent the whole day alone! Well, Sadie and Belle are here, too. My goal was to sleep late, catch up on laundry, and read through March 4th in the Chronological Bible. I am happy to report, I have met all those goals! I felt a little bit like Mary or Martha today, depending on my activity. I would work some, read the Bible some, eat and drink something along the way. There was some praying occasionally, too.

I have been in the book of Numbers today. One of my favorite hymns comes from this chapter six of this book (I am still trying to learn the alto part!):
22 Then the Lord said to Moses,
23 "Instruct Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:
24 'May the Lord bless you and protect you.
25May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
26May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.'

Of course, one of our greatest blessings is Ava. She is getting so big! She has become very adventurous, and explores the whole house now! Below is a picture of her kissing her Elmo.
She also likes to give Elmo a drink, too. Elmo looks a little surprised!
Ava is quite into love and kisses. And she is talking quite a lot, too. Jenni and Rod came over on Saturday so we could all babysit Ava. At one point, Rod and Mike leave to go get something. Ava was standing in the living room looking at the door. As soon as the door shut, she says, "Love you!", still looking at the door. Jenni and I both heard it, and it made us smile! First time we have ever heard her say this!

Ava loves her Mojo, and has been known to sit on him or use him as a pillow. Ava loves Sadie, but Sadie is not so sure about having Ava lie down upon her.

Well, back to my job tomorrow! One of the blessings about that this week -- I only have TWO more days until the weekend and fun with the family!

"Look at those who are honest and good,
for a wonderful future lies before those who love peace."
Psalm 37:37

Look at that sweet little girl. I can't believe how big she is! I think she looks a little like her Aunt Jenni : )
