Cinco de Mayo has new meaning!

Now the 5th of May will forever be remembered as the day Jenni and Rod received approval for their fiance visa! For the details of the day, go to Jenni's blog.

On our end, we asked everyone we knew to pray for this to happen. Thanks be to all of you for your continued prayers! God continues to bless Jenni and Rod. This whole process took about half the time they anticipated. Our God is awesome!

Mike and I began the day praying, and each sent Jenni an email for our respective work emails. And then the waiting began. We waited, and waited, and waited. We were feeling like the Everready Bunny. The interview was 1230 Texas time. Mike and I called back and forth several times to see if we knew anything.

It was time to leave work. I had still not received any information. This was beginning to make me anxious! So, I decided I would call Jenni on my cell as soon as I got in my car.

As I am walking down the surgery hallway to clock-out, my cell phone rings (terrible reception in that hallway, too!). It was Mike. Of course I asked if he had heard anything. Mike said, in the saddest voice I have ever heard, "Yes, I just got an email." Okay, I never really expected anything but good news. Mike sounded so defeated, my heart sank. I say, "You mean they didn't get the Visa?" Mike, again in a very sad voice, says "Yes, they did." I must admit it took me a couple of seconds to realize what he actually said. He heard the pause, and started laughing. Don't misunderstand -- he IS really happy about the Visa and the marriage. But he also loves to drive me crazy! And he is SO good at it! Have to love him!

We talked to Jenni later. She sounded so excited. We are so happy and pleased. Later, when I was online, Rod popped up and tells me in Spanish -- "Me dieron la visa!" And all of us would know what that means in the context of the day!

"Your goodness is so great!
You have stored up great blessings
for those who honor you.
You have done so much for those
who come to you for protection,
blessing them
before the watching world."
Psalm 31:19
