Judi's Puppet Repair!

 We are Puppet coaches at our church.  The kid have a competition coming up soon, and the kids have noticed some of our puppets need repairs.  Imagine!  Most of the puppets are only 15-20 years old!  They are the same puppets that Jay and Jenni used in high school, only older!  Making repairs to the body is not hard.  Just need a sewing machine or a needle and thread.  Been there, done that many times. However, most of the puppets need new hair.  I have never done that before.  So I googled how to make puppet hair, to no avail.  How to use craft fur for puppet hair, nothing out there.  I took a good look at my puppet's hair.                   Just some simple stitching all around the wig. Grandchildren Are Sneaky!

  We had the pleasure of having Abby, Keely, and Jenni staying with us for a few days while Rod was on a retreat in Guatemala.  We had a wonderful time.  Those little girls have quite the imaginations!  And they are sneaky.  Very sneaky.  Actually, all my grandchildren are sneaky except for Jack.  And I'm sure he WILL be sneaky one day!   Every one of them likes to play in my room.  The main attraction is the huge paperweight  Elliptical machine.  They all are very proud of how well they can make those pedals move!  Sometimes two of them are on there at the same time.  Makes me nervous.  They also love clocks and timers.  At some point every clock in every room has moved around.  I find them in the kitchen, in the dining room, and in some place that I would never expect.  Pop has an alarm clock with a phone.  Currently we do not have the phone hooked up.  The kiddos can be found talking to s...

"Now Somewhere in the Black Mining Hills of Dakota....

...lived a young man named Rocky Raccoon."  I always thought that song said "South" Dakota.  Are there Black Hills in both Dakotas?  I'm sure I don't know and am not really going to take the time to find out, no matter how easy it is with Google, Bing, etc. After Cabin Time, This set of Worleys, young and old, headed for those Black Hills.  We were going to see Mount Rushmore.  In South Dakota.  And to see anything else that struck our fancy.  So we struck out in our trusty Jeep and Mini-van, loaded with kids and snacks.  On July 30.  We saw lots of motorcycles as we went.  Lots. Of. Motorcycles!  Come to find out, it was the start of the annual Sturgis Rally.  In Sturgis, SD.  If you do not know what that is, feel free to Google it! Our must stop place was Wall Drug Store.  In Wall, South Dakota.  We stopped, we ate, we shopped around.  It is a lovely place to spend a lot of time walking around. ...
