Dump Cake -- A Worley Reunion Favorite
Here we are, at the 2010 Worley Reunion in Minnesota. And instead of posting about the reunion, I am going to post about "Dump Cake"! It is a real hit with all of us. We usually serve it when it is our turn to cook dinner. But this year -- Devon requested we make it Monday night so that her friend Elle could have some before she had to go home. In order that the whole family could have the recipe, I decided to post it! I meant to do this last year. So, better late than never! Dump cake is very easy to make. You don't have to mix anything! So easy that KIDS can make it! It turns out something like a cobbler. First step, spread a 20 ounce can of crushed pineapple on the bottom of a 9 X 13 inch pan. On top of that, use a spoon to put globs of a 21 ounce can of canned cherry pie filling and then spread evenly. It should look like this: Next, "dump" (I actually sprinkle it and then spread it evenly with the back of a spoon) a 18.25 ounce box of yellow cake...
